Biography
Associate Professor Gawain McColl graduated with a PhD in Genetics from Monash University (1999), was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Manchester (1999 -2001) and then at the Buck Institute for Age Research, USA (2001), where he studied the genetics of ageing in Caenorhabditis elegans at with a Glenn Foundation/AFAR Fellowship awarded in 2003.
In late 2007 Gawain returned to Australia as a research fellow at the Mental Health Research Institute. He later joined The Florey in 2013, where he is now Head of the Molecular Gerontology laboratory in the Neurodegeneration Division.
