In celebration of International Women’s Day 2025, and as a formal launch of The Florey’s ‘Levelling Up’ career progression program, we hosted a special panel event to discuss the unique challenges women face in industry, government, health and research, strategies for career advancement, and ways we can foster a supportive and inclusive environment for the next generation.
Our event, attended by over 150 invited guests, featured an incredible panel of leaders: Hon. Gabrielle Upton, Hon. Jaala Pulford, Professor Lauren Ayton AM and Dr Ranjana Srivastava OAM.
Professor Peter van Wijngaarden, Executive Director & CEO of The Florey, opened the event, followed by Associate Professor Snezana Maljevic, Chair of The Florey’s Equity in Science (EqIS) committee who introduced the new ‘Levelling Up’ program.
The Florey’s ‘Levelling Up’ career progression program is an initiative generously funded by philanthropist Naomi Milgrom AC for women in science at The Florey.
The panel, moderated by Georgia Brown, Head of The Florey’s Communications and Engagement, discussed women leadership in science and the importance for women to be represented in data, from discovery through to clinical trials.
We thank everyone for joining us in-person or online.
