Florey scientists feature in Research Australia’s INSPIRE magazine

Florey scientists have featured in the most recent issue of ResearchAustralia’s INSPIRE magazine – the Frontiers edition.

Dr Amir Omidvarnia and his team have developed a new algorithm to automatically detect epileptic spikes during simulataneous EEG / fMRI. This will dramatically speed up detection of the brain regions generating epileptic seizures.

Also mentioned were Associate Professor Clare Parish and Dr Lachlan Thompson’s work in generating brain cells from stem cells to one day transplant into Parkinson’s patients.
