Professor Andrew Lawrence, head of The Florey’s Addiction Neuroscience Group, discusses current addiction treatments and his search for new therapies.
In his recent public lecture he walks us through the long history of human use of psychoactive substances, the biology underlying addiction and explains why it so hard for addicts to stop using.
Professor Lawrence then lays out an exciting new treatment option that will be trialled by the Florey in conjunction with St Vincent’s Hospital.
