Mr Adam Horsburgh

Mr Adam Horsburgh is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Austin Health. He has extensive health sector management experience in Victoria, as well as in the UK National HealthService (NHS). He has also held senior policy and advisory roles with the Victorian government, including the Department of Health and HumanServices (DHHS) and the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

Prior to his current role as the CEO of Austin Health, Mr Horsburgh was Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Melbourne Health. At DHHS, he was the Director of Performance and System Design and prior to this he spent eight years at Monash Health. This included responsibility for managing a portfolio of clinical services that operated across multiple acute hospital sites and extensive community-based services, as well as delivering financial, access and quality performance metrics. Mr Horsburgh also held role the role of Executive Director, Performance Strategy and Innovation during his time at Monash Health.

A graduate of the UK’s NHS Management Training Scheme, Mr Horsburgh has also held a variety of operational management roles in the NHS; and he also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Public Sector Consulting practice in the UK where he undertook financial and operational improvement projects across NHS Trusts and Social Services departments.
