Yoshiteru Kagawa researcher profile

Biography

Dr Kagawa completed his PhD at Yamaguchi University in Japan in March 2015. He received the prestigious Principal PhD Student Award of the Year (2015) from the Yamaguchi University Dean of Medicine. Afterward, Dr. Kagawa relocated to Tohoku University in Japan, where he worked in the Department of Anatomy at the Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine. His research focused on lipid biology in the fields of neuroscience and cancer.

In 2023, Dr Kagawa was recruited as a Research Fellow at The Florey and joined the Neurodegeneration and Neuropathology Group. In this new role, Dr Kagawa dedicates his efforts to identifying biomarkers, therapeutic targets, and modifiable risk factors for non-Alzheimer’s dementia.
