CREDOS-Biotech
About Us

CREDOS-Biotech is a pre-clinical CRO platform within The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, purpose-built to help academic and industry partners generate robust, translationally relevant evidence in large animal models.
CREDOS leverages more than 60 years of excellence in ovine research, delivering globally differentiated physiological data, and supporting seamless progression from early translational studies through to GLP-aligned safety and toxicology programs.
Our purpose
CREDOS was built to keep high-value R&D onshore, expand access to industry-ready GLP capability, and deliver large animal studies with stronger translational and regulatory relevance.
CREDOS offers:
- Direct access to The Florey’s platforms, infrastructure, and specialist networks
- End-to-end support from study design to analysis interpretation
- Scientific input from key experts across the program lifecycle
Core capabilities
CREDOS combines specialised ovine models with advanced monitoring, imaging, and scientific support across discovery, optimisation, and regulatory development.
- Advanced imaging including PET, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy
- Histology and pathology
- Integrated pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and toxicology with bioanalysis
- Bespoke model development and protocol design
- Scientific advisory support through specialist networks
- GLP-accredited facilities and quality systems
- Real-time multi-organ monitoring across key physiological systems:

| Cerebral | Cardiovascular | Renal |

Hallmark models
CREDOS delivers ovine models that enable real-time, multi-organ monitoring over chronic timeframes in unanaesthetised subjects, helping improve translational confidence and de-risk development.
Pre-validated models exist for:
- Cardiopulmonary Bypass
- Seizure
- Heart failure
- Sepsis
- Acute Myocardial Infarctions
- Dialysis
- Stroke

When CREDOS is the right partner
CREDOS is particularly well suited when small animal models aren’t feasible on scale, anatomy, or data depth; when direct multi-organ monitoring is needed to understand on-target and off-target effects; when de-risking clinical development is a priority; and when rapid progression from refinement to GLP matters.
Engagement types
- Feasibility assessments
- Protocol advisory
- Protocol co-design
- Pilot and dose-finding studies
- Investigator-assisted studies
- End-to-end service delivery
- GLP studies
CREDOS offers flexible engagement models tailored to scope, combining scientific depth, operational reliability, and translational focus to support complex preclinical programs from concept through to clinical readiness.
How to engage with us
Partnering with CREDOS is designed to be straightforward, flexible, and scientifically rigorous — ensuring you get the right model, the right data, and a clear path to translation.
A collaborative, endtoend engagement model
We work alongside you from the earliest stages of program design through to study delivery and interpretation — adapting our level of involvement to match your needs and internal capability.
- Start with a focused discussion
We align on your therapeutic, device, or mechanism of interest, and assess where large animal data will add the most value. - Define the right study approach
Our team supports protocol advisory or co-design, leveraging existing validated ovine models or developing bespoke approaches where needed. - Progress through staged execution
Engagement can scale from feasibility and pilot studies through to dose-finding and full GLP study delivery — allowing you to build confidence before committing to larger programs. - Deliver high-quality, decision-ready data
Studies are executed with real-time, multi-organ monitoring and supported by deep scientific input — ensuring outputs are robust, interpretable, and aligned with regulatory expectations. - Support translation and next steps
We stay engaged beyond data generation, helping interpret results, refine strategy, and prepare for clinical or regulatory progression.
