Biography
Dr Sarrabeth Stone is a Senior Research Officer within the Multiple Sclerosis and Myelin Repair Group.
Dr Stone completed her PhD at Victoria University of Wellington in 2013 where she studied the roles of microglia and macrophages in regulating T cell responses in multiple sclerosis. She undertook postdoctoral training at the University of Minnesota where her research focused on the role of intracellular stress pathways in cell survival during developmental myelination and inflammatory demyelination.
Dr Stone joined the Florey in 2021 and was awarded the MS Australia Postdoctoral fellowship later that same year. Dr Stone’s current research focus is investigating the miRNAs that regulate microglia identity and function with the aim of identifying microglia miRNA that promote remyelination in multiple sclerosis. She is deeply committed to conducting research to improve the quality of life for people with multiple sclerosis in Australia and worldwide.
