Projects in network analysis of genetic epilepsy
Epilepsy impacts around 3% of the population and in many cases has clear genetic underpinnings
Our laboratory has created several genetically engineered models of epilepsy that have helped provide the most detailed understanding of how a single gene mutation can lead to behavioural seizures. Perhaps the largest gap in our understanding lies at the level of the network that bridges cellular and synaptic function with the actual seizure phenotype itself.
