Dr Stefano Frausin

Biography
Dr Stefano Frausin obtained his PhD in 2018 from the University of Melbourne under the supervision of Professor Lachlan Thompson at The Florey, with a thesis focused on models of neurological diseases. In particular, he was interested in the therapeutic effects of human-derived spinal motor neurons transplanted in animal models of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and developing new tools for studying glioblastoma multiforme in rodents.
In early 2019, Dr Frausin started a postdoctoral position in the Neural Transplantation Team, working on stem cell therapy for Parkinson’s disease, motor neuron disease and stroke.
