Dr Samaneh Mirzaei
PhD

Samaneh has a bachelor and masters degree in biomedical engineering, with a specific focus on biomaterials and tissue engineering. She completed her PhD at Monash University, where she dedicated her research to exploring neural tissue engineering approaches for potential treatments in Parkinson’s disease.

She joined the Florey in August 2023, and her primary research interest is development of a combination therapy for targeting protein aggregation and neuroinflammation as a next-generation therapeutic for motor neurone disease. This project was supported by FIGHT MND Drug Development Grant.
