Biography
Associate Professor Gawain McColl graduated with a PhD in Genetics from Monash University (1999), was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Manchester (1999–2001) and then at the Buck Institute for Age Research, USA (2001), where he studied the genetics of ageing in Caenorhabditis elegans at with a Glenn Foundation/AFAR Fellowship awarded in 2003.
In late 2007 Gawain returned to Australia as a research fellow at the Mental Health Research Institute. He later joined The Florey in 2013, where he is now Head of the Molecular Gerontology Group.
