Biography
Dr Daisy Spark is a postdoctoral researcher within the Synapse Biology and Cognition Group at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health. With a background in drug discovery biology, she leads in vivo work for Phrenix Therapeutics (a biotech spin-out from The Florey and Monash University) developing new treatments for cognitive impairments associated with schizophrenia.
Daisy received her PhD from the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2022, where she assessed cognitive, motivational and neurobiological dysfunction in mouse models for schizophrenia.
In 2016, she completed a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science Advanced (Honours) at Monash University where her honours work contributed to the spin-out of Phrenix Therapeutics.
Daisy’s work aims to improve translation of preclinical efficacy in clinical trials and develop more effective treatments for mental health conditions such as schizophrenia.
