Christina Mo profile

Biography

Christina Mo is a systems neuroscientist and Brain & Behavior Research Foundation Young Investigator exploring how the brain constructs perception and guides decision-making. She completed her BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience at the University of Western Australia and PhD at The Florey and the University of Melbourne.

During her postdoctoral training at the University of Chicago, Christina investigated the neural circuitry underlying cognition using population neural recordings and circuit manipulation (Nat Commun 2024, J Neurosci 2019, PNAS 2017). She returned to The Florey in 2022 as an NHMRC CJ Martin Fellow and Chief Investigator on an NHMRC Ideas Grant.

Her research group combines calcium imaging, optogenetics, trans-synaptic tracing, and advanced behavioural paradigms to uncover how neural circuits give rise to perception, and how these processes go awry in neuropsychiatric disorders.
