Biography
Dr Brendon Haslam is a Research Fellow within the Neurorehabilitation and Recovery Group at The Florey, and School of Allied Health, La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. Dr Haslam has a special interest in chronic pain that is experienced by people with stroke and other neurological conditions. His research explores potential contributions towards the experience of pain such as alterations in body percept and working body schema, somatosensory function and pain beliefs, and then using this knowledge in the development of targeted interventions.
He is also involved in stroke rehabilitation studies aiming to tailor upper limb rehabilitation to the individual, based on clinical assessment findings and current evidence, and developing clinician training programs to best achieve this. Mixing research and clinical work, Dr Haslam has been awarded titling by the Australian Physiotherapy Association in three disciplines: Pain, Neurology and Research.
