Biography
Dr Azadeh Feizpour is a Senior Research Fellow at The Florey Institute, focusing on the validation of blood-based biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Limbic-predominant Age-related TDP-43 Encephalopathy (LATE), and other dementias. She completed her PhD in neuroscience at Monash University in 2018, followed by more than three years in the med-tech industry, where she served as a chief scientist, leading translational research and developing digital diagnostics and therapeutics for neurodevelopmental disorders.
Motivated by the goal of enabling accessible and scalable diagnostic tools for clinical practice, Dr Feizpour joined The Florey in 2022, contributing to the AIBL and ADNeT studies. Her research integrates neuroimaging, autopsy-validated datasets, and cutting-edge blood assays to assess the diagnostic and prognostic utility of emerging fluid biomarkers, including phosphorylated tau and TDP-43, for detecting AD, LATE, and other neurodegenerative diseases.
Her work aims to advance early detection and support the development of precise, biologically-informed diagnostic pathways for dementia.
