The role of feeding/metabolism hormones on alcohol use disorders
Several feeding/metabolism related hormones such as GLP-1, FGF21, ghrelin and leptin have been linked to alcohol consumption and craving, yet how they act within the brain (or periphery) to mediate this behaviour are unknown.
Using cutting-edge molecular and behavioural neuroscience technologies, this project explores brain regions and brain chemicals that underpin this behaviour.
Aim
- Understand the brain regions and brain chemicals that underpin alcohol consumption and craving.
