NeuroStem
About us
NeuroStem is The Florey’s stem cell engineering platform, providing expert support in all areas of stem cell-related research, from the establishment of iPSCs from patients to the correction and introduction of disease-associated variants to the generation of advanced transgenic models instrumental in tackling human neurodegenerative diseases, and beyond.
NeuroStem also aims to help researchers source engineered stem cell reagents from the most authoritative overseas repositories.
Our services
We support research activities with the following services:
- Establishment of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from patient cells using modern non-integrating approaches (mRNA transfection, Sendai virus, episomes).
- Quality assessment and control of the human pluripotent stem cell clones, including to the ready-for-immediate-publication level (as a Lab Resource and beyond).
- Design and implementation of the advanced precise gene variant engineering approaches, in the patient and select reference iPSC lines.
- Conceptualisation, experimental design and generation of advanced genetically-encoded reporters in human pluripotent stem cells, ranging from gene expression to specific intracellular process sensors.
- Comprehensive characterisation of the genetic consequences of genome engineering in stem cells, future-proofing of the key stem cell lines.
- Generation of neurons and other relevant brain/CNS-resident cell types, including specification of desired cell types by an enforced gene expression.
- Scaling up of all projects using a stem cell-dedicated, flexible facility-localised robotic system.
- Stem cell research-related consulting: NeuroStem can provide expertise and guidance on stem cell model design and development to maximise the quality and impact, including top-tier publication readiness, of your stem cell-based research.
