Tongrui Qian Researcher Profile

Biography

Dr Tongrui Qian obtained his PhD at Peking University (Beijing, China) in 2023. His doctoral research focused on probing the release regulation of neuromodulators ex vivo and in vivo by developing bioengineered sensors. He also investigated the molecular mechanisms underlying neuromodulator release.

Dr Qian joined the Neural Network Group at The Florey in 2023 to study the role of neuromodulation in cortical memory processes. To address this question, Dr Qian is using genetically encoded fluorescent indicators and in vivo two-photon imaging to track when and where neuromodulation occurs, and how this contributes to memory formation and extinction.
