Biography
Linda is a research assistant with a strong passion for translational research with emphasis on the development of new therapies to prevent and/or delay the progression of diseases. She has a diverse technical skill set with great expertise in the conduction of preclinical studies.
She has extensive experience in the design and implementation of acute and chronic experiments in conscious and anaesthetised small and large animals including the induction of animal models of disease.
She has worked on the development and characterisation of animal models of atherosclerosis, hypertension, heart failure, myocardial ischaemia-reperfusion injury, stroke, vascular damage and pain.
Her current project focuses on the therapeutic opportunities for prevention of cerebral neuroinflammatory and renal ischemic injuries associated with cardiopulmonary bypass, a necessary life-saving procedure used during most cardiac surgeries.
