Biography
Dr Vaughan is a neurologist and researcher based at the Epilepsy Imaging Division of The Florey. He is the Deputy Director at the Florey Node for the National Imaging Facility, and the Imaging Lead for the Australian Epilepsy Project.
His research employs clinical translation of advanced neuroimaging techniques for the understanding of epilepsy and for directing individualised treatment. His core expertise includes the acquisition and analysis of functional, diffusion and quantitative MRI data in adults with neurological conditions.
Dr Vaughan is an investigator for the ‘AFFECT’ randomised clinical trial to evaluate utility of EEG-fMRI in epilepsy surgery planning (NHMRC funded 2019–24). His work has also been supported by grants from Brain Australia, the Windermere foundation, the Australian Government Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) and the Victorian State Government.
