Danilo received his B.Sc from the University of Milan and M.Sc from the University of Trieste, Italy. Now, at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, Danilo is undertaking a PhD study investigating the interplay between the higher order thalamus and cortex during complex behaviours. More specifically, he is interested in how the higher thalamus modulates the input (dendritic activity) and output of cortical principal neurons. To address these queries Danilo uses two photon microscopy, electrophysiology and optogenetics in mice trained in complex behavioural paradigms.
