Rebecca Nisbet

Biography

Rebecca completed her PhD in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Melbourne and then undertook postdoctoral studies at CSIRO and then at the University of Queensland in the laboratory of Professor Jürgen Götz. Her team were the first to demonstrate the ability of engineered antibody fragments to reduce tau pathology in vivo. Rebecca joined The Florey in 2021 as the head of the Antibody Therapeutics laboratory. The lab aims to generate next-generation antibody therapeutics for treating Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases. The lab strongly focuses on using pDNA and mRNA delivery strategies in combination with nanotechnology to enhance brain delivery and specifically target intraneuronal antigens.
