Dr Lindsea Booth

Dr Lindsea Booth is an Allan and Maria Myers Research Fellow and head of the Neurocardiovascular Physiology Group at The Florey. Her research group is focused on understanding how the brain communicates with other vital organs (heart and kidneys) via autonomic nerves in disease and, using state-of-art genetic engineering techniques, investigating how modifying activity within these nerves can improve outcome. Her research group is embedded within The Florey’s Systems Neuroscience Theme, and is performed in partnership with Florey’s Epilepsy, Protect and repair, and Dementia missions.

At 9.5 years post-PhD (adjusted for career disruptions), her work has been recognised both nationally and internationally, as evidenced by 13 international and 5 national invited talks and has had significant impact as evidenced by 1,600+ career citations. She has had $1.2+ million in funding as Chief Investigator and $6.6+ million as a named Co-Chief Investigator.
