Dr Kathleen Bagot
B.Sci, BB. Sci. (Hons.), PhD

Dr Bagot is a mid-career researcher (8 years post-doc). As a social scientist, she has more than 15 years of experience conducting applied, translational, interdisciplinary research in complex settings.

Dr Bagot has worked with multiple interdisciplinary teams including various combinations of psychology, marketing, education, emergency medicine, neurology, cardiology and industry partners.

Research examples include understanding the impact on patients and clinicians from introducing technological innovations into acute healthcare settings (hospitals, ambulances), exploring the underlying psychological mechanisms of blood and plasma donor behaviours within Australian Donor Centres and investigating the impact of physical environments on children's classroom performance in primary school education sites. Her track record (> 20 peer-reviewed publications) illustrates a continuing focus on improving the physical and psychological health of individuals or communities.

In particular, Dr Bagot has expertise in mixed methods research, including both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies (including complex modelling) as best fits the research question, population and available resources. Further, she has significant project management experience ensuring the timely delivery of project and research outputs, to meet requirements of project partners, including funders and industry partners.
