Biography
Dr Thomas Handley completed his PhD on recombinant synthesis of cyclic peptides in 2018 at the University of Otago. His first postdoctoral position in 2020 was with Professor Craik and Dr Lawrence at the University of Queensland focusing on peptide-drug conjugation. In 2021 he moved to Melbourne to join the Wade Group before moving to the Hossain Group in 2022.
Dr Handley’s specialties include chemical synthesis of complex peptide therapeutics, optimisation of peptides, stabilisation and conjugation to small molecule drugs and other peptides, with focuses on relaxin-family peptides, insulin-family peptides and antibiotic peptides.
