Remika Mito

Biography

Dr Remika Mito is a postdoctoral researcher in the Imaging and Epilepsy group, working within Professor Graeme Jackson’s laboratory. Her research focuses on applying cutting-edge neuroimaging techniques to better understand neurological conditions, with a current focus in epilepsy and concussion.

Dr Mito received her Honours degree (First Class Honours and University Medal) from the University of Sydney in 2014, and PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2019. Highlights from her PhD include an Editor’s choice publication in Brain, a Summa Cum Laude award at the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), and top departmental thesis award (John Milne Prize for Neuroscience).

 

As an early-career researcher, Dr Mito has received numerous awards and grants for her research, most recently including a University of Melbourne Early Career Research Grant, a Victoria Fellowship from veski and AFRAN Award to support an overseas study mission. She is passionate about supporting the needs of early career researchers, and has held institutional and international roles on various committees, including The Florey student and postdoc committees, and as Secretary of ANZ ISMRM, and on the organising committee for CDMRI.
