Assessing the autophagy pathway in humanised astrocytes of motor neuron disease

In this study, we will use induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived astrocytes to investigate the role of autophagy in astrocytes of MND. We hypothesise that autophagy is impaired in astrocytes of MND patients. The project will allow the student to learn stem cell culture, immunocytochemistry, confocal microscopy and 3D image analysis.
